The community of Hudson's Hope is situated on the banks of the mighty Peace River in the Rocky Mountain foothills in the beautiful province of British Columbia.
Hudson's Hope is located 90 kilometres (55 miles) west of the City of Fort St. John and 66 kilometres (41 miles) north of Chetwynd on Highway 29. 
Near Airports connecting to international flights are in the Fort St. John (within an hours drive), also serving the area is the Dawson Creek Airport located 90 minutes away. Both the Fort St. John and Dawson Creek Airports have daily scheduled flights.


In Hudson Hope you find many good quality stores, restaurants, banks, post office, medical clinics, schools, a local RCMP detachment, a Fire hall and much more. The district of Hudson Hope is also called "The Land of Dinosaurs and Dams". It offers a wide variety of recreation opportunities including world class fishing and hunting.
Some of the many famous attraction are the WAC Bennett Dam which is one of the largest earth filled dams in the world. The area is also one of the richest sites of fossils and dinosaur footprints in the world. The Hudson’s Hope Museum fossil display is the finest collection in the Peace River area.


There are numerous lakes very close by, with Cameron Lake being only 5 mins away, Moberly Lake is 10 min away, Dinosaur Lake is 15 mins away, and Williston Lake is only 35 mins away.

On the north shore of Moberly Lake, is a small community of Moberly Lake, which includes a general store, gas station, firehall and many residences.
Fur traders first came to the area as early as 1778. When gold was discovered in 1861 it attracted a number of people to the area. The lake was named after Harry Moberly, who worked for the Hudson's Bay Company. He had lived on the north shore of the lake in 1865.

Moberly Lake is known for its fishing. Northern pike, bull trout, arctic grayling, lake and mountain whitefish are what you can expect to find. Many have been coming to this lake for many years to fish and enjoy the park.

There are a number of walking trails along the shore with a number of small bridges over small streams. Moose and Black Bear are common to this area and more than 25 species of birds are located in this area.

The House has a kind of a L-shape and was professionally built only 6 years ago. It is very spacious and cozy, but also large enough to not only be used as a Bed and Breakfast but also as a hunting lodge, duplex or 4-plex.

 

With approx. 2000 sq feet on the main floor, and 2000 sq feet in the basement, it has 9 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms (one with double sink and toilet stalls), 2 living rooms, 1 office, and a very large kitchen & dining room with a vaulted ceiling. There is in floor heating with 4 zones, 2 upstairs and 2 down.
Heat source is provided by propane which as well is used for the hotwater tanks, fridges, freezers and kitchen stove. 

 

The yard has a walk in cooler with attached 12 x 20 storage building, generator building, tack shed, chicken coop on cement slab, pig pen, and 2 corrals. The entire property is fenced and cross-fenced, containing 4 pastures.

There is excellent water year around from a drilled well, with a lagoon septic system.

 

Internet, T.V., and phone are supplied via satellite.
The house has power provided from it's own 13,000 KW generator which is located in the generator shed. You like being "off the grid" ??? Here is a great functioning solution.
