Likely is located in, as we think, the most
beautiful Province of Canada, British Columbia. B.C. is also the most
frequented Province of tourists. With all it's wonderful scenery and pure
nature at its best, it's not only worth to visit it, it's also beautiful
to live here. Check out the pictures of the
surrounding area.
Likely is a friendly rural centre at the end of a paved road. It is a
little over an hour from the City of Williams Lake and just eight hours,
(an easy day’s drive), from Vancouver. It has an active chamber of
commerce, an elementary and junior high school, general store, pub,
community centre, nondenominational church, post office, gift shop,
laundry mat, fire department and retail outlets for gas, diesel and
propane. |

High Country Inn is situated
on the sunny side of the valley wall overlooking the quaint rural
Community of Likely on Quesnel Lake, the second deepest fjord lake in the
world. The area reflects a fascinating era with many original historic
artifacts and sites on the famous Gold Rush Trail.
From the trendy, upscale “Village Garden Restaurant,” or any of the motel
rooms, patrons enjoy a magnificent view of the landscaped grounds, garden
waterfall, lake and village in beautiful natural surroundings.
Likely is at the mouth of the lake where crystal clear water empties into
the Quesnel River. The long slender arms of Quesnel Lake reach into the
Cariboo Mountains and in either direction, the view from High Country Inn
is outstanding!
The area around Quesnel Lake
is a very popular recreational destination. The lake is glacial fed, 137
km long with 523 km of interesting shoreline wrapped around 30,255
hectares of water. |

In addition to this impressive
lake, there are over 148 smaller lakes within a 36 km radius of the Inn
and the rivers are internationally renowned for fly fishing. Beautiful
sandy beaches and numerous lakeside parks make this part of the Cariboo a
family favourite. The opportunities are endless for healthy outdoor
activities in this pollution free environment.
Crisp sunny days are common in winter, attracting many snowboarders, cross
country skiers and snowmobilers to the surrounding alpine areas from
November to May. Vistas of wild flowers in spring and early summer are
especially lush in this central Cariboo region. |
