The German Bakery and Sachsen Café was established in 2003 in the beautiful, historic village of Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia. Our little village on the East Coast of Canada was the beginning of this amazing country in 1604. Over the years, our bakery has grown to what it is today, a very successful, well-established company. Outstanding quality of our products and excellent customer care were the most important components of our success. For the past 38 years, we, Dieter and Heiderose, have been dedicated to producing amazing German baked goods and meals.
After owning and operating a business for so many years its time to find a person to follow into our foot steps, since we are at a stage in life were you like to do a little less and enjoy a bit more of life. We would therefore like to find someone who is dedicated and motivated to follow in our footsteps, who will take over our successful company and, if interested, grow it even further.

The German Bakery, Cafe & Restaurant
Our restaurant has seating for 50 customer’s insides and as well as 20 outside on our patio. Besides all the tourists that pass-through Annapolis Royal we have a lot of confirmed bus tours (between 40 & 50 people) from Canada & the USA returning every season. We offer a wide variety of Bakery goods incl. many German specialities.
In our kitchen, we also create German specialties, soups, sandwiches and seafood dishes from scratch, without the use of ready made products. Customers love the fact that they get to enjoy a home cooked meal when they come to our restaurant, no matter what time of day.
Besides eating in the cafe/restaurant, take out is available as well, as people love to enjoy our yummy pastries and breads with their families and friends at home.
We operate our business 7 days a week starting the beginning of May until the end of October. From November until April we operate the business 3 to 4 days a week. That does not mean that a new owner could not build it up some more, especially in the winter.
